PatchBox
PatchBox started life as an earlier incarnation of the
FreeFrame Video Streaming plugins.
With the release of the
WinAmp AVS Streaming plugin, all of its functionality has been superseded.
The last released version, 0.3.5, can be downloaded from
http://www.patchbox.net/∞
However, work has begun on
PatchBox 2.0 which is an
OpenGL∞ powered, multi-screen,
LUA∞ scripted application.
It's primary use is for projecting multiple layers of video on architecture.
Current Feature List
- Fully multi-threaded and multi-core
- Load as many video clips as your system can handle (DirectShow streaming or VFW for precise control)
- Also loads all popular image formats and supports the alpha channel in PNG and (animated) GIF
- Supports as many texture layers as your graphics card can
- Supports multiple graphics cards, outputs, and viewports
- Media is indexed in a database giving fast access (and search functionality)
- FreeFrame support
- Control every parameter, item of media, and entire system using LUA scripts
- Full system access via OSC
- Mappable MIDI support
The decision whether to release
PatchBox 2.0 publicly, either for free or commercial has yet to be decided.
