On macOS/OS X it is also possible to install Fugio via a Homebrew Cask, which has the advantage of greater system compatibility

The first time you do this process you will need to install Homebrew, which may take a while due to it needing to download various tools

Install XCode

Open a Terminal window and copy and paste the following:

xcode-select --install

Install Homebrew

Copy and paste the following:

/usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL"

Follow the prompts and enter your password if prompted

Enable Cask

Copy and paste the following:

brew tap caskroom/cask

Install FFMPEG

While the next step will install Fugio with all the libraries it needs, you will probably want to enable some additional features in the FFMPEG libraries, which Fugio uses for working with media files.

If you already have the default FFMPEG installed via Homebrew, you should uninstall and reinstall with these options.

Just copy and paste this command into the Terminal:

brew install ffmpeg --with-fdk-aac --with-libass --with-x265 --with-freetype --with-libvorbis --with-libvpx --with-opus

Install dlib

Due to a problem in cask we have to manually install xquartz and dlib:

brew install cask Caskroom/cask/xquartz
brew install homebrew/science/dlib

Install Fugio

Now we can install Fugio:

brew cask install fugio

You can now find Fugio in your Applications folder

Upgrade Fugio

Currently you need to copy and paste this:

brew upgrade
brew cask reinstall fugio
